I, personally, HATE politics! Red vs Blue, Democrats vs Republicans, Godzilla vs King Kong. UGH! I have been reading some posts, about how horrible life is going to be because Obama had gotten re-elected! WHO CARES?!?! We have to stand together as a Nation and back up whomever is running it! If Romney would have been elected, we still need to stand together! We aren't the red states and the blue states, we are the United States! (yes, that was stolen for Obama, but I agree with it)
Let's go to a question "Did you vote?"! I had read PLENTY of statuses, tweets, and overheard people saying "I don't care about either of the candidates, so I am not going to go vote" WHAT?! It's a right that we are given, whether or not you care about the person running for president, you still need to voice your right, your opinion, your choice. Yes, I voted, no I did not care about either of the men running, but I voted regardless of how I feel about them. I voted for the man who I thought would better our economy, my life, and possibly my children's lives. And those who didn't vote are the ones who are crying about Obama winning. I am sorry, if you didn't vote then don't b*&%# about the outcome. I know that out of my county, of all the ones who are registered to vote, only about 1/3 of them voted. How sad is that?
Every four years its the same thing, bad mouthing the other political party, friends becoming enemies, a nation splitting! I wonder what would happen if we completely got rid of the (R) and the (D) next to the names?! Where we actually listened to the running mates instead of the color of the party they are representing! I think everyone would pay attention more to what the person is saying, instead of "well, my parents have always been Democratic/Republican, so I will just vote that way". Then after the election, reveal their party, and see how many people voted against their life long party choice. I think that would be hilarious "Look Jane, we voted Democratic this time, what the heck!" :P Just me?! haha Thought so!
One of my Facebook friends said "Whether our president is Democrat, Republican, Mormon, Christian, Muslim, or believes in a Flying Spaghetti Monster, if you have faith, you should never have fear. America is not some scared street urchin living in poverty under an oppressive monarch. She is a battle-worn vet with scars to prove it, who treads miles through mud and blood and sweat to lead her people. She has been through worse, and she will not fail." -Luke Sims
And I agree with him. He had a whole long that I LOVED! But thought I would spare you, and if you are a friend of his, then you have already read it!
Sidenote: I know I haven't wrote in a looooooooong time, (I have been tired and busy) but I am going to try to do better. No this isn't a promise to you, but to myself, to try and write and keep myself sane during the day or the evening!
And sorry if this blog seems a little jumpy and every where at times, but that is how my thought process worked today! lol I went back several times and added or took some out and then jumped to the beginning and rewrote! lol sigh!

PHEW!
A lot has happened since the last time I wrote, I made a Halloween wreath, we went to the circus, Romi broke her glasses, and we lost a beloved family pet. I think I will blog about our dog in another post.
Let's start with the wreath I made, I don't want to get into much detail, seeing that we have a lot to talk about. First, Jake and I went to the store and bought our materials. Since this was the first one I did, I wanted to do it on a small scale. (bad idea, should have gone bigger) Then we grabbed some sparkly spiders to "spook" things up!
Mapping it out to see what it will look like
The sign I painted to put in the center
finished product! I even painted the spider to look like a black widow!
Now I get very competitive, now my neighbors are starting to put up there Halloween decorations, and I can not let them out-do me! lol I have to find more things for me to put up! lol I am still looking!
The circus was a HUGE hit with the kids. We saw clowns, which freaked them out! lol Tigers, elephants, horses, dancing ladies, and POODLES!! <3
Me and Romi
Me and Jake
Riding the horses, yes I know they aren't the best pictures, but hey, I was alone and walking! lol
Romi was the only one that let them paint her face! she picked to be a cat!
After a bag of popcorn, 2 cotton candy bags, 2 horse rides, 1 painted face, and 2 light up swords, we were finally able to leave the circus! Needless to say, the babies were very tired when we got home, they were out within 5 minutes! YAY!! I can't hang like the old days, staying up late and eating candy, not for me! lol stomach ache from hell!!
Let's see, what's next, oh yeah, Romi had broken her glasses yesterday. YES, took them off of her face and broke them. I was not a happy mommy after I had heard what she had done! Of course she kept telling her teacher that her "daddy, can fix them." Which he can't, 1) because he is in Oklahoma for work and 2) they were completely twisted and not fixable. Not only would our Optometrist not take out insurance from Stephen's work, but Romi and I had to drive to Abilene to go to Lens Crafter's . The kind people at Lens Crafter's were so happy to help us out, picking the right frames! We decided to go with the glasses that twist and won't break that easily! phew! Huge weight off my shoulders! While we were waiting for her glasses to be ready, we ate at one of the best places in the mall! DANTE'S!!
Romi kept going "mmm, this is sooo good mommy"
The rolls were her favorite!
We got her glasses and headed back home! I also completely forgot to take a picture of her with her new glasses. :(
Lastly at Romi's school this morning we had Dad's Breakfast Day, Stephen couldn't make it, but Pa-Pa did. Pa-Pa had missed grandparents lunch, because he drives and 18 wheeler and is gone a lot, so he was really excited to get to go. Romi was so happy to show him around the room and show him what she does. She told him about her class job this week, she gets to hold the flag in the morning for the pledges. She didn't want us to leave after breakfast was over, but her teachers calmed her down and everything was all good!
Pa-Pa and Romi
I also received this picture of Romi's class with the High School Cheerleaders!
Well now, this was a long post, sorry about that! :) I hope that you all have a wonderful day!!

Update on the wind chimes
I know I had said that the kids were going to paint the other side of their wind chimes yesterday, but we had a little problem with listening yesterday! I have no idea what was going on, but my kids were not listening, talking back and had a roller coaster of emotions. One minute they are laughing and playing, the next they are in an all out brawl. Screaming, pulling hair/clothes, and lots of crying! These kind of days make me go NUTS! So we didn't get to do anything fun. :( Today doens't look like we get to do anything fun either, Jake has been on a little terror today, throwing things, along with fits, talking back and crying (more like screaming) when I get on to him. He has spent most of his time in his room, with no t.v. I might add, this morning.
Jake, highly upset with me yesterday!
On another note, I did however re-pot my plants to try to get rid of my gnat problem.
After 2 1/2 bags of potting soils (I bought 4 bags, that just means I need more plants for the extra soil =D ) I finished all 5 planters. I also bought 6 bags of decorative rocks to cover the top soil so the gnats can get in and lay their nasty eggs.
This is my Peace Lily
These are my (what my mom called) airplane plants
This and my peace lily are my favorites, but I have no idea what this one is called. lol
So far...haven't seen a gnat, keeping my fingers crossed.
I hope all of you have a great day.
And in case you're in a bad mood already, please enjoy this picture I took of Romi yesterday, during one of the happy periods. lol
She said she was Spiderman! lol

Emmys and Wind chimes
As I am here writing this blog, I am watching the Emmys. Yes, I absolutely LOVE the Emmys! Granted I am about an hour and a half behind real time, because of my oh so lovely children, I am still enjoying them. This weekend went by WAY to fast. Now its back to the hustle and bustle of the work week...pshh who am I kidding, I get up and take Romi to school and come back and clean and watch daytime television! haha
Today, the kids and I went to Wal-mart to waste time. Well, if you know me I can easily blow $50+ in a heart beat at Wal-mart, or any other store for that matter. Kept it under $50 today. WHOO!
SUCCESS!!!
The kids had been begging to make a mess. So I decided to let them, creatively of course. We got a wooden wind chime that you paint yourself ($10), and some small clay plant pots ($1 each)
The wind chime
Babies painting
After 1 cup of water knocked down, 2 paint covered children, 5 paint cups mixed the wind chimes were almost finished, we get to paint the other side tomorrow after Romi gets out of school and before she has ballet/tap class. So I will then upload our finished project then.
Now, my real problem is "How in the H#%% am I going to get rid of these dang houseplant gnats?" I am going to be trying to get rid of them, I've read about coffee grounds, soapy water, sand, and apple cider vinegar. I hate these little bugs and I will win this battle. So tomorrow I am going to have to take, yet another trip to Wal-mart to get some more potting soil and re-pot! *sigh* But if it works, will be so worth it. Going to see if I can find some decorative rocks or something to put on the top soil. Maybe that will help keep those ugly things out! Ick!
I hope everyone's Monday is a good one, Mine is going to be quite a busy one. Have a great one!
Till next time.

Stray. Cats. Everywhere.
At our apartment building they love cats, me on the other hand, don't really care for cats all that much! Plus, it doesn't help that I am allergic to them. Well a couple of days ago, I had seen this (what I believe to be) an orange tabby! It was living in the shrub next to my door. Straggly looking, malnourished, one of those that you'd rather avoid instead of taking in and give a home. The non cat lover in me said "No, Layla, leave it alone" but the animal lover in me said "Layla, you have to do the right thing, you can't let that poor animal starve." So Jake and I went to the store bought two little bowls, and cat food! The poor thing was so hungry. No, I am not too happy about having a cat hang around, but at least I can say that my conscience is clear. Romi keeps asking if we can take it inside and keep him, because she "loves that cat sooooo much." Every time we go outside it's "Aww momma, that cat loves me!", " Mommy, that cat is telling me hi." or "Momma that cat is sooooo cute." haha
Here is the poor thing!
What do you think we should call it?!

First post
I had been wanting to write a blog for a long time now, and I
guess now, is a good time to start. I guess you could say that I have “jumped
on the band wagon”! Seeing other people write their blogs and having some peer
pressure (cough*Leah*cough) has inspired me to write one. It has taken quite a
long time to come up with a name, and what to write about. Well here I am,
still not too sure what to say, but here none the less! Haha
Me and Stephen |
Till next time, have a great evening everyone!
